Information
Boulangcse is an app used to prepare for the AQA French Higher GCSE! On this app you don't have to actually enter in the word, making revision much quicker. With every single word on the specification loaded into the app, you can ensure that you are prepared for the french exams.
To start, select the test areas you would like to revise on the main menu, along with the mode you want to use. There are 3 options:
- Reading: You are shown a french word, and answer in English.
- Writing: You are shown an english word, and answer in French.
- Listening [APPLE MAC DOWNLOAD ONLY]: A french word is spoken to you, and you answer in English
The main menu also allows you to decide if you are shown questions which you have never seen before, questions that you have previously got correct, questions that you have previous got wrong, or a combination.
Whether you got the question right or wrong is asked after each question. This data is saved so that app remembers next time!
When selecting test areas on the main menu, each area has many icons and numbers next to it. The number to the right of the tape measure icon is the number of questions in that area. The number to the right of the brick wall icon is the percentage of previously attempted questions in that area. Finally, the number to the right of the tick icon is the percentage of questions you have previously got correct in that area.

On this page, two versions of Boulangcse can be found.
The first is Boulangcse Web, which can be played directly in the browser. Note that the listening mode will not be included in this version, since apple text-to-speech is used for the voices.
The second option is the Apple Mac Version of the app, which can be downloaded onto your Apple computer or laptop. On this version listening mode is available. Once you have downloaded the file, simply move it from your downloads folder to your application folder. The app will then appear on your launchpad.
Sorry that listening mode is only available on Apple Mac: I would have to change the text-to-speech code for every device otherwise!
